NEWPORT BEACH, CA – July 23, 2013 – This holiday season, The Resort at Pelican Hill® invites Resort guests and locals alike to gather, celebrate and create lasting memories at Newport Beach’s only Five-Star, Five-Diamond resort. Pelican Hill’s magnificent collection of time- honored, annual traditions includes favorites like the Children’s Gingerbread House Decorating Class, Nutcracker Tea Holiday Party and Breakfast with Santa.

“From Thanksgiving dining and Hanukkah feasts, to Christmas events and New Year’s festivities, we invite locals and Resort guests to celebrate with their loved ones at Pelican Hill during this special time of year,” said Pelican Hill Managing Director Giuseppe Lama. “Whether it’s your first time visiting the Resort, or an established tradition, our holiday entertainment and dining activities encourage generations to gather together and share the wonder of the season.”

Children’s Gingerbread House Decorating
Saturday, November 30 & Sunday, December 8
Pelican Hill’s Pastry Chef highlights a favorite holiday tradition in this culinary class from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., when children will enjoy lunch and create a masterpiece to take home. Classes are available for children ages 5 and up, with parent supervision required throughout the class for all children ages 10 and younger.

Nutcracker Tea Holiday Party
Sunday, December 15 & Sunday, December 22
Children and their families are invited to enjoy an enchanting Holiday Season tradition, featuring a delightful Nutcracker ballet performance and holiday tea in the Resort’s elegant ballroom from 12 to 3:30 p.m. Tea sandwiches, pastries and scones will be served. Parent supervision is required throughout the tea and performance.

Breakfast with Santa
Saturday, December 21
Come and tell Santa your holiday wishes from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Mar Vista Ballroom. Children and their families will enjoy seasonal music and a traditional breakfast buffet, featuring favorites such as scrambled eggs, chicken apple sausages and French toast. A to-go candy buffet and Santa photo souvenir are included. Parent supervision is required throughout Santa visits and breakfast.

Executive Chef Jean-Pierre Dubray creates an exquisite Thanksgiving brunch buffet with classic dishes, accompanied by live entertainment and children’s activities. Available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reservations recommended.

Thanksgiving at Andrea Ristorante
Thursday, November 28
Andrea’s Chef Luigi creates a special rustic Tuscan holiday menu available from noon to 10 p.m., accompanied by a classical guitar player.

Thanksgiving at Pelican Grill & Lounge
Thursday, November 28
Pelican Grill’s Chef Derek presents a delectable four-course California grill menu available from 11:30 am to 10 p.m. Entertainment includes a pianist, bass player and vocalist.

Thanksgiving at Coliseum Pool & Grill
Thursday, November 28
Chef Marc designs a classic California breakfast buffet available from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. From 12 to 10 p.m., a Thanksgiving limited a la carte dinner menu, including turkey specials, will be available.

Holiday Caffè
Throughout November and December, Resort-made holiday gelatos, pastries, panettone, seasonal treats and other holiday desserts are prepared fresh and featured daily. Custom cakes and desserts may be ordered in advance for holiday entertaining. For holiday shoppers, the Caffè features traditional culinary accessories and gourmet goods.

Tea Time Renaissance
November 23 – December 30
Capture the essence of a traditional tea every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2:30 to 5 p.m. throughout the holiday season in the Great Room, along with a classical harpist. (Tea Service not available New Year’s Day.)

Hanukkah Feasts
November 27 – December 5
Special lunch and dinner menus are available at Coliseum Pool & Grill and through in-room dining. Does not include kosher cuisine.

Christmas Day Ballroom Brunch
A Christmas celebration with traditional offerings accompanied by a classical harpist is available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children’s activities include Santa Claus photos, cupcake decorating and a puppet marionette show at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Reservations recommended.

Christmas at Andrea
December 24-25
Andrea’s talented Chef Luigi brings an Italian holiday festa to the Resort on Christmas Eve, available from 4 to 10 p.m. On Christmas Day, an all-day special menu is available from noon to 10 p.m. with a variety of holiday dishes and an acoustic guitar accompanying the dining experience.

Christmas at Pelican Grill & Lounge
Chef Derek creates a California grill three-course Christmas Eve Dinner with a variety of course options available from 5 to 10 p.m. Live entertainers perform in the lounge from 6:30 to 10 p.m. On Christmas Day, a California grill three-course menu is available from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. A limited regular menu and special lounge menu will also be offered.

Christmas at Coliseum Pool & Grill
Chef Marc creates a California classic Christmas Eve three-course menu with a variety of course options available from 5 to 10 p.m. A breakfast buffet is available from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and an a la carte three-course menu is available from 12 to 10 p.m.
Breakfast Buffet: $45* per adult; $20* per child. Three-course menu $75* per adult; $35* per child.

In-Bungalow & In-Villa Christmas Dining
On Christmas Eve, traditional Christmas fare from a special holiday menu is available a la carte from 5 to 10 p.m. The regular in-room dining menu is also available. On Christmas Day, a special Christmas a la carte menu through in-room dining is offered from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

New Year’s Eve at Andrea Ristorante
Our Andrea Chef brings “Il Cenone,” the Italian Gala, to Newport Coast with a four-course menu featuring multiple course choices and two dinner seating options, from 5 to 7 p.m. or from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
5 – 7 p.m. seating: $140* per adult without wine pairing. 8:30 p.m. – 1 a.m. seating: $190* per adult without wine pairing.

New Year’s Eve at Pelican Grill & Lounge
Pelican Grill’s talented Chef Derek creates a California grill four-course prix fixe menu with a choice of dishes available from 5 to 10 p.m. Dancing and entertainment by a five-piece band and singer is offered from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. A balloon drop will mark the New Year at midnight in the lounge, with a complimentary glass of Prosecco for each guest!

New Year’s Eve at Coliseum Pool & Grill
Chef Marc creates a New Year’s Eve three-course prix-fixe menu with California classic cuisine, offered from 5 to 10 p.m. An a la carte dinner menu and a festive bar menu are available from 10 p.m. to midnight. Live entertainment with a three-piece band plays from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., while guests enjoy a midnight balloon drop and complimentary glass of Prosecco to toast.

New Year’s Eve Party Cabanas at Coliseum Pool
From 6 p.m. – midnight, ring in 2014 with a private cabana party, as you view the evening’s celebrations on a flat-screen TV. Enjoy an a la carte New Year’s Eve celebration menu and a complimentary Prosecco toast at midnight. Live music is available nearby at Coliseum Pool & Grill.

New Year’s Eve in the Great Room
Celebrate with live music, a balloon drop and a complimentary Prosecco toast in the Great Room. An a la carte New Year’s Eve celebration menu is available from 6 p.m. – midnight. Complimentary for Resort guests, or $35 cover charge per non-resort guest.

New Year’s In-Room Dining
For overnight Bungalow and Villa guests, a festive a la carte menu is available from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. On New Year’s Day, a pre-ordered Champagne Breakfast-in-Bed includes a split bottle of Veuve Clicquot and a la carte menu options.

New Year’s Day at Andrea Ristorante
On New Year’s Day, a dinner menu will be served from 5 to 10 p.m., and the Andrea Bar is open.

New Year’s Day at Pelican Grill & Lounge
On New Year’s Day, our Pelican Grill’s Chef Derek creates traditional lunch menu available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A special New Year’s Day Football Bowl Games Menu is also offered in the Pelican Grill Lounge from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

New Year’s Day at Coliseum Pool & Grill
On New Year’s Day, Chef Marc creates a California classic cuisine traditional breakfast brunch buffet available from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The regular dinner menu is available from 5 to 10 p.m. At the pool, the regular menu is available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
