NEWPORT BEACH, CA – October 10, 2013 This winter, guests from near and far are invited to experience a variety of new seasonal offerings at The Resort at Pelican Hill®, including Fireside Etiquette Chats, hands-on Culinary Academy classes for Valentine’s Day and featured menus to celebrate the 2014 Winter Olympics. From seasonal epicurean experiences and live entertainment to sports viewing and social etiquette programs, Pelican Hill offers something for everyone this winter at Newport Beach’s only Five-Star resort.

“Growing up in France’s Loire Valley, winter meant cozy days inside preparing big family meals with my mother, and each year, those memories inspire me to create culinary experiences that warm our guests from the inside out,” said Pelican Hill Executive Chef Jean-Pierre Dubray.

Our newest seasonal epicurean experiences will bring friends, family and loved ones together in settings both intimate and casual, and guests will delight in the return of annual dining experiences like the Black Truffle Treasure Menu at Andrea and Dinner of the Senses for Valentine’s Day.

New this winter, Pelican Hill expands its autumn and spring etiquette classes with an added series of winter programs for children and adults:

Children’s Resort Etiquette Classes
January 11 & 26, February 8, March 9 & 22
Children are cordially invited to expand their understanding of social, travel and dining etiquette with a fun and educational class. Led by Kathleen Cover, Founder and President of The Etiquette School of Beverly Hills and Newport Beach, certified by the prestigious American School of Protocol, each 2.5-hour course offers a positive, relaxed and approachable setting. Separate age-appropriate sessions on each class date are designed for ages 5-7 or ages 8-12.

Fireside Etiquette Chats
Thursdays, January 30, February 27 and March 27 from 5:30 – 7 p.m.
Join us for casual, cozy conversations with Kathleen Cover, Founder and President of The Etiquette School of Beverly Hills and Newport Beach, certified by the prestigious American School of Protocol. Sip Prosecco, coffee or tea, during an interactive group Q&A, with etiquette tips and amusing stories by the grand fireplace in the Resort’s Great Room.

An intimate and sensual dining experience, Pelican Hill’s popular Dinner of the Senses stimulates each of the five senses of sight, touch, taste, scent and sound. Created by Coliseum Pool & Grill’s Chef Micah, the seven-course menu for two features ―his and hers‖ selections. Served in a private poolside cabana, each course is eaten by hand without the use of utensils, tapping into the desire to nourish one another and share cherished moments together.
