PELICAN HILL RATED WORLD’S TOP GOLF RESORT IN CONDÉ NAST TRAVELER READERS’ CHOICE SURVEY

The Resort at Pelican Hill® Also Earns Top California Golf Resort Honor and Perfect Course Design Score for Second Consecutive Year

NEWPORT BEACH, CA – March 19, 2012 – The readers of luxury travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler have rated The Resort at Pelican Hill® the world‘s Top Golf Resort. In 2011, Pelican Hill debuted on the magazine‘s annual list as California‘s Top Golf Resort with one of the top overall scores in the world, as well as two perfect scores for its Course Design & Access, and Golf Staff & Services.

“Re-perfecting Pelican Hill is one of the great memories of my life. The beauty of Pelican Hill‘s coastal setting can be distracting for golfers, so I framed each hole to help keep their focus on the game,” said Tom Fazio, renowned golf course architect and designer of Pelican Hill‘s two 18-hole courses. “I recommend Pelican Hill to golfers all the time and they always say the experience exceeds their expectations.”

Published in Condé Nast Traveler’s April 2012 issue, the “Top 121 Golf Resorts” list ranks golf resorts from across the world in regional lists by overall score, based upon ratings in eight specific categories. With an overall score of 96.6, Pelican Hill is only California golf resort to achieve a perfect score in the category of Course Design & Access. Pelican Hill surpassed all California Golf Resorts in five of eight categories, including Rooms, Food/Dining, Overall Design and Activities/Facilities.

“A few short years ago, we opened Pelican Hill based upon the clear vision we established early on to create a luxury destination to serve the world‘s most discerning guests,” said Ralph Grippo, president of the Irvine Company Resort Properties, which owns and operates Pelican Hill. “We are deeply honored by this re-affirming feedback from our guests across the world, who have visited and voted based on the experiences and memories they have created here in this idyllic destination along the coast of Newport Beach.”

The Resort at Pelican Hill and Pelican Hill Golf Club, located along the coast of Newport Beach in Southern California, have earned numerous accolades, including the 2012 Grand Resort Award from Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report, the Top U.S. Resort ranking in Condé Nast Traveler ‗s 2011 Readers‘ Choice Awards, Golf Magazine’s Green Resort Award 2012, and two courses ranked among the Golf Digest America‘s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses.
